I am a designer explorer who does not fear the future.
I do not fear the future because we have created this world and thus, we can design ourselves into a more sustainable one.
In my practice I like to understand the ramifications of objects in futures settings that are described by climate change, the migration of peoples and ecologies. It is through my experiences of different cultures and environments that I have lived and travelled to, that has sparked my curiosity into using a wide range of objects, tales, and materials. My work proposes possible futures surrounding our relationships with our environment. To explore these possible futures, I scan for weak signals and research through observing cultures, aspects unknown to me and I seek to work with people who think differently. This is what I find most valuable within my design practice. I am always seeking new forms of knowledge; I have completed courses ranging from Anthropology to Art History to Oceanography (which I have a particular affinity for), to gain a better understanding of our society. What drives me is the idea that every aspect in the world around us has the potenial to change outlooks to the futures. I strongly believe that to alter our attitudes to a more sustainable future people must collaborate, as a result I am eager to work with creative and innovative people who offer new perspectives and visions.
